Tina Truax, M.A., L.L.C. Licensed Psychologist B.A. in Psychology, Winona State University M.A. in Counseling and Psychological Services, St. Mary’s University of Minnesota Tina has worked in a variety of environments within the mental health profession. She provided services as a Behavioral Counselor within the Lifestyle Coaching unit at Mayo Clinic. She also worked as a Correctional Program Therapist at the Minnesota Correction Facility in Faribault, MN. Tina has worked in private practice since 2007.
Tina works with individuals age 13 and older, and with heterosexual, gay/lesbian, or multicultural couples. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including emotion-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, EMDR, and interpersonal therapy. Her areas of specialization include eating disorders, depression, anxiety, chemical and other dependency concerns, family-of-origin issues, trauma, adjustment/life transitions, communication skills, relationship concerns, and emotion regulation. Tina uses a caring, collaborative and non-pathologizing style to help her clients utilize their strengths to create change.
